Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 24 September 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the TechDoc website and the IT support services ("Services") provided by TechDoc. By booking a service or using this website, you agree to these Terms.
1.1 Services
TechDoc provides computer troubleshooting, printer setup, network and office device configuration, and related IT support services to small offices and home offices ("Customer", "you").
1.2 Call-Out Fee and Pricing
A flat call-out fee of AUD $50 applies to all attended visits, payable regardless of whether the issue is fully resolved during the visit. Additional charges may apply for parts, replacement hardware, or software licences required to complete the work, and will be communicated to you before purchase where practicable. Quotes are estimates only and not fixed prices unless confirmed in writing.
1.3 Bookings
Bookings are made through our online booking system or by contacting us directly. We will make reasonable efforts to attend at the scheduled time but are not liable for delays caused by circumstances outside our control (traffic, weather, prior job overruns, etc.). You must ensure reasonable access to the premises and equipment at the scheduled time.
1.4 Customer Obligations
You agree to: provide accurate information about the issue prior to the visit where possible; back up important data before any service is performed (see Liability Waiver below); ensure any third-party software or hardware used is appropriately licensed; and pay all fees owing within 7 days of invoice unless otherwise agreed.
1.5 Changes to Services
We may decline or discontinue work if, in our reasonable opinion, continuing poses a safety risk, requires access we have not been granted, or falls outside the agreed scope without further agreement on price.
1.6 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
1.7 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
1.8 Contact
Questions about these Terms can be directed to support@techdoc.com.au or +61 434 934 334.
Liability Waiver
2.1 No Guarantee of Outcome
While TechDoc uses reasonable skill and care in performing Services, we do not guarantee that any fault will be fully diagnosed, repaired, or permanently resolved. Some issues (e.g. intermittent hardware faults, manufacturer defects, issues caused by third-party software updates) may not be able to be fixed.
2.2 Data Loss
You are responsible for backing up all data, files, and settings before we begin work. TechDoc strongly recommends a full backup prior to any service involving software installation, operating system changes, hardware replacement, or network reconfiguration. To the maximum extent permitted by law, TechDoc is not liable for any loss of data, files, software configurations, or settings arising from Services performed, except where such loss is caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
2.3 Pre-Existing Conditions and Hardware Age
TechDoc is not responsible for faults, failures, or damage arising from pre-existing hardware defects, wear and tear, age-related component failure, or issues that manifest or worsen during otherwise correctly performed work (e.g. an aging hard drive failing during a routine transfer).
2.4 Third-Party Products and Services
TechDoc may recommend, install, or configure third-party hardware, software, or cloud services. We are not liable for the performance, security, availability, or pricing of third-party products, which are governed by their own terms and warranties.
2.5 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law: TechDoc's total liability for any claim arising from the Services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. TechDoc is not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including loss of profits, loss of business, or loss of opportunity, arising from the Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2.6 Indemnity
You agree to indemnify TechDoc against any claim, loss, or damage arising from inaccurate information provided by you, unauthorized or unlicensed software present on your systems, or your failure to back up data as advised.
